In today’s business world, it has become a necessity for a company to have some kind of photo or graphic that is easily recognizable. They are called logos. While some are not easily identifiable, others have become such a part of our everyday life that the logo is synonymous with the company itself.
A quick glance at the logo to the left brings to mind visions of many types of athletic wear and sporting events. Many years have been spent by Nike to get the company recognizable to the world as the leader in the industry. And many dollars have been spent to put Nike’s “swoosh” on every piece of their athletic gear so the teams and athletes know what they are wearing is high quality.
In a hurry and need a quick bite of something? Just look for the golden arches. McDonald’s is known globally for it’s fast meal at most any time of day or night. In America, a McDonald’s can be found on almost every corner in most every city. When traveling, you know what you’re getting when those arches stick up a mile down the road.
A logo represents who the company is. It identifies the quality behind the product or service. It’s their guarantee. Along with the logo come legal fees that companies are willing to spend in order to prevent unauthorized entities from using it as well as to go after those who do use it without permission. After all, it is their identity. And stealing an identity can bring dire consequences to the thief.
So, I wonder what would happen if someone were to steal a logo that belonged to the Heavenly Father? What would happen if they claimed it was theirs? And tried to convince the world, as well as themselves, that it belonged to them?
We are in the process right now of raising a generation that has no idea of the TRUE meaning of the rainbow. They have no idea that it belongs to God. And if they are informed that it is His and it is His guarantee to us, it is called hate speech. And the result is Christians who are too afraid to speak up.
We need to take back and claim that which is God’s promise to the world. It is being taken and twisted right in front of us by those who would call us fools. Speak up! Let them know they are stealing from God. Otherwise, as Christians, we are just as guilty. Stand up for what we know is right and speak out against what is wrong!
Take PRIDE for what the rainbow actually means! Not for what man has twisted it into.
8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
